trimmed.

These ladies have lovely long tresses. I'm quite liking that two-tone colour and slightly dishevelled look. Which reminds me I'm in desperate need of a trim, as my hair currently resembles more of the dishevelled and less of the lovely!

you're lovely.

Went to a design seminar thing-a-me-bob the other night with a few design school friends slash fellow bloggers. Twas rather inspiring and all that. One of the speakers was artist Sarah Maxey, I've fancied her typography for sometime, but hearing her talk about it made the work more impressive - she's rather a witty lady. I want those pillow cases bad.

old but new.

This editorial from the June/July 2010 issue of French Vogue, styled by Carine Roitfeld rather appeals to me. It looks like it could be from an old back issue. Tan, maroon and black are kind of great together. See the rest here.

flora.

I like these quirky still-life photographs titled "food fauna" by Paul Barbera (found via ohjoy). The vases are really rather nice. He has an impressive array of interior photography too.

russian doll.

Miroslava Duma (fashion editor Harper's Bazaar Russia) is always snapped in the most amazing outfits, but this one has to be my favourite. That green jacket is something else. She has great hair too.

the dog days are over.

... and not just because it is well and truly winter, but rather because I'm excited to see the talented Florence + The Machine again in concert. This time at the Trusts Stadium on Thursday 29 July. (Thanks kendyl for sussing the tickets!)

chelsea.

Spotted these shots this mornin' on Hanneli's streetstyle blog. Went to school with this lass and have been friends with her brother for years, in fact my cousin goes out with him! So all rather exciting to see a kiwi face on a blog I keenly follow. I'm not suprised to see Chelsea got photographed while visiting NY (she made it onto turned out too) as she's a finely dressed lady. If you havn't already paid a visit to her blog I suggest you do, it's lovely. Or have a listen to some of her sweet music here.

ton of bricks.

I'd love an old apartment, one with brick walls and wooden floors.

cubed.

Love these necklaces. Simple little cubes in a variety of colours and sizes. I found them on a nice wee blog, called dores.

inspired by.

Thanks to phoebe philo, tan leather skirts and white tshirts seem to be cropping up everywhere. Rather an easy combo to achieve, so here's a little outfit inspired by the images below.

you got served.

I flicked through the latest issue of 'self service' magazine yesterday, it's jam packed with lovely little portraits, in polaroid style colours. I rather reluctanly put it back down again (beacause of the hefty 60 dollar price tag). It would be a keeper for the bookshelf though. Luckily there's pics from it floating around the net (see below), so it's a case of copy, paste and print for the ol' scrapbook - a slightly cheap (and nasty) option. I did however walk away with a copy of 'the gentlewoman', the stock felt too good to put down. It's filled with great reads about some really influential woman right now. Design/image/colour-wise it's got a nice feel throughout, including the ads!

arnsdorf.

I favour the simplicity of this spring/summer 2210-11 collection by Arnsdorf, fresh off the runway at RAFW. These nicely coloured pieces look super easy to wear. Accessory-wise the 'less is more' aesthetic works a treat.

four ways with... glass jars.

Have been meaning to share these for ages, I did this crafty project for Your Home & Garden magazine some months ago. It's surprising what a lick of paint can do to an old glass jar, makes a rather nice ceramic-like vase to put the dried hydrangeas in. Stayed tuned for pom-poms next!  Last month I made a ridiculous amount of the little buggers, but hopefully it was worth it.

ornamental.

I love pretty little ornaments and nice pastel coloured paintings so these artworks by Emily Wolfe pretty much tick all the boxes.

clouded over.

Aside from spending the majority of yesterday zzzz-ing, nursing rather a horrid hangover, I did manage to make a couple of those cloud cushions I mentioned a few posts ago. Quite pleased with the result, took a snap of them in situ so you could have a little look.
