with my little eye... Proenza Schouler. The labels spring 2009 collection is pretty darn slick. I sure am fond of those glam rounded glasses, paired with red lippy. The mint, black and blue colours are super striking and the garments have beautiful detailing.
Just a little look inspired by the sweet honey bee. It is a combo of recent posts - scalloped dress, Repetto ballet flats, and Lover jacket.
I've always secretly liked school uniforms, the collars, the navy blue and white colours, even the little embroided emblems. I adore these dresses by Lover, part of their winter collection 'sacred hearts' inspired by swedish school-girl style of Miss Filippa Berg. I've got my eye on that sailor dress, too cute. It's a lovely little logo for the range too.

Sweet photos found on impactist.com. These cute wee wooden houses have been constructed by hand! Golly I'm impressed, so intricate. See the rest of the series here.
are my current favourite colours (see arrangement below). The gelato hues compliment one another delightfully and work well alongside black and white.
I sat through countless viewings of the latest chanel No.5 ad (featuring fav frenchie Audrey Tautou), trying desperately to get screen shots of my favourites bits. Obsessive, yes. I love the setting and colours running throughout, the train scenes are beautiful. However I seem to be drawn to the outdoor ones with birds, buildings and boats.

It seems everyone is caught up in the vampire buzz, thanks to Meyer's 'twilight' series. It has been spilling over into the fashion quite nicely (See Karen Walker eyewear shoot or meadowlark fang jewellery). Wildfox, the LA based clothing label has got amongst it in there latest shoot for fall 09. Not particularly my style, but quite a cool shoot. Some sweet photos in previous ranges too.
A few recent likeable lookbook posts. Nice photography, and colours.
It's hard to escape the many ballet inspired clothing out there at the moment, from tulle skirts and pink cardigans to leotards. However, I just crave a pair of Repetto ballet flats (or four). I'm dying to visit the store in Paris. But for now, sadly I shall just gaze longingly at their website (from the comfort of my computer chair).

Happy Mother's Day, and what a perfect excuse to use some of Michael Parekowhai's work. I love his floral sculptures/photographs series. You'd swear they were real flowers, however these arrangements are delicately constructed by hand, using fake plastic flowers.
Oh how I love scallops, not the seafood kind (although they're pretty yummy) I mean the curve shape seen throughout design at the moment, whether it be in fashion, graphic design, stationary or ceramics.
Chloe has gone scallop crazy, pretty curved edges can be seen throughout the latest range of summer runway and spring ready to wear. It's on skirt hems, blazer lapels right through to shoes. I've got my eye on a black vinyl skirt at Lara Parker, with a scalloped hem. Or perhaps I'll just grab some scissors and go wild on one of my straight hemmed skirts, yikes that could be dangerous. May ponder this one a little longer.
The charming Lula magazine issue 8 has finally reached NZ shores. I adore the cover, it looks like a painting. The blues and purples are darling together. As always there is a beautiful aray of photo shoots, some with rather subtle washes of colour and did not take kindly to being scanned. Here's a few of my favourite portraits that could handle the scan.
I am on the hunt for a pretty crystal necklace, such as these ones by 'Bona Drag'. Lusting after those studded ballet flats too, however I think I will get crafty and create my own version. As for that cute petal romper jumpsuit, it just looks frilly and fun.
I saw some of Ann Shelton's work at the Auckland Art Fair over the weekend. She was represented by McNamara Gallery. I am particularly fond of the photographic series 'room room'. The circular format is great, it gives you just a slightly distorted glimpse into each room. Kind of like looking through a peep hole on a door. I adore the pastel colours, they remind me of yummy milkshake flavours. The various floral patterns on the matresses and limp curtains are pretty sweet too.
Her 'room room' series is being exhibited in Auckland at the Gus Fisher Gallery from 8 May - 20 June if you're keen... or check out her website here.
